Working principle

Decompose the text and image information in the computer into dot matrix, then control the laser to scan on the photosensitive material, expose the photosensitive material to form a latent image, and then convert the latent image into visible text and image through development, fixing and other processes.

Structural composition

• Laser light source system: mostly use long-life semiconductor lasers, such as 635nm wavelength red laser diodes, which have the advantages of small size, low cost and long life.

• Scanning system: Commonly used is the laser polygonal mirror scanning capstan structure, through the rotation of the polygonal mirror, the laser beam is scanned on the photosensitive material.

• Film supply and collection system: equipped with independent film supply box and film collection box, which can accommodate a certain number of photosensitive films. The film supply box transports the film to the scanning area, and the film collection box collects the exposed film.

• Control system: connect to the computer, receive and analyze the graphic information sent by the computer, control the emission of the laser light source, the movement of the scanning system, and the action of the film supply and collection system.

Performance characteristics

• Easy operation: The interface is simple and intuitive. Operators can master the operation method after simple training and can quickly set up file output and operate the equipment.

• Moderate resolution: The film width is generally 405mm, the length is unlimited, and the resolution can meet the general printing platemaking needs.

• Slow film output speed: Compared with high-end equipment, the film output speed of simple laser typesetting machines is slower. For example, some equipment can output 1-3 sheets of film per second.

Application scenarios

Mainly used in small printing companies such as pad printing, silk screen printing, flexographic printing, offset printing, platemaking studios, advertising companies, etc., where the printing accuracy requirements are not extremely high and the business volume is relatively small. It can be used to make film films for printed materials such as leaflets, posters, business cards, and packaging boxes.
