Function
• Making screens: Transfer the graphic information on the film to the screen through exposure, forming the graphic part and non-graphic part required for printing, so that the screen has printing function.
Principle
• Exposure imaging: The exposure machine uses ultraviolet (UV) light source. When the film and the screen coated with photosensitive glue are placed tightly on the exposure table, the light source is turned on, and the ultraviolet light passes through the transparent part of the film, causing the corresponding photosensitive glue on the screen to undergo a photochemical reaction, hardening to form the graphic part, while the part blocked by the film remains unhardened and becomes the non-graphic part after washing.
Selection method
• Light source type: Common ones are metal halide lamps and LED lamps. Metal halide lamps have high power and strong light, but high heat and high energy consumption; LED lamps have low heat generation, low energy consumption, long life, but relatively high prices. If the printing volume is not large, it is more appropriate to choose an LED exposure machine; if the printing task is heavy, a metal halide lamp exposure machine may be more able to meet the needs.
• Exposure area: Choose according to the size of the commonly used screens to ensure that the exposure area can cover the screens. Generally, there are different specifications such as A3 and A2 to choose from. For example, if you often make large-sized poster screens, you need to choose a platemaking machine with a larger exposure area.
• Exposure uniformity: Exposure uniformity directly affects the quality of the screen. A platemaking machine with high uniformity can produce better screen printing effects.
• Automation: A platemaking machine with a high degree of automation is easier to operate and can improve work efficiency. For example, a platemaking machine with an automatic vacuum function can make the film and the screen fit tightly, reduce the error during exposure, and is suitable for printing operations with high precision requirements.
